The brand new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe recently celebrated its grand opening with the smashing of a giant guitar ice sculpture.
The company took over the aging Horizon Hotel & Casino, and they've already added three large meeting spaces totaling over 15,000 square feet, as well as a club. And on-site music venue Vinyl will feature bands like Skid Row and Scott Weiland.

The 539-room hotel with its 25,000-square-foot casino also has several restaurants and bars, including the Fire Break Kitchen & Bar, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and the South Shore's only oyster bar. The eatery will feature favorites from New Orleans, too.
Other restaurants and bars include the Park Prime Rib Steak House – which will serve local grass-fed, free-range beef, premium seafood and shareable appetizers in a cozy setting – and the Center Bar. This 'heart' of the hotel includes an intimate state, metal wall panels and a large LED screen to watch concerts and music videos. The bar will include 12 beers on tap, wine samplings and a group of mixologists creating signature cocktails made with the finest ingredients.

For the coffee crowd, the hotel has Fuel, which features coffee drinks, sandwiches and smoothies from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
The casino features 500 state-of-the-art video gaming machines and table games like Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker and Pai Gow. The casino will also feature a Sports Book.
The conference and meeting areas can also be divided up into smaller sections for more intimate events like weddings.

The hotel's rooms include king, queen and double queen suites, as well as un upcoming poolside terrace suite. Many of the rooms have mountain or lake views and include amenities like down pillows and duvets, natural bath products and private bars.
